The evening will begin with the last year on a large screen projection of the Philharmonic concert at the Teatro Comunale, organized by the Cooperative Edificatrice Ansah, who will perform some pieces by Giuseppe Verdi, Gioacchino Rossi, Pietro Mascagni, Pyotr Tchaikovsky IIyich, and many others.
In Bologna, however, is tradition that the transition from the old to the new year is celebrated with the burning of Vecchione, the giant sculpture which is burned at midnight in Piazza Maggiore in the heart of the city. This year the construction of the phantom was entrusted to a young artist selected through a contract sponsored by the City of Bologna: the sculpture, which represents a 12-meter breaststroke, is the work of Mark Dugo. Around the bonfire will enliven a great celebration of music, lights and colors.
Saturday, January 1, the Association Cultural Dance Company "cure instead Risorgimento in the Grand Ball for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy. From 16 hours, you can attend the exhibition of some 300 dancers from various Italian cities and European cities, which will delight the audience in the magnificent and prestigious Salone del Podesta at Palazzo Re Enzo in the heart of Bologna.
